Book Artist Tara Bryan will teach you how to make pop-up structures that can be used individually or combined to create cards, decorations, book illustrations, and more. Starting with simple cut-on-the-fold pop-ups and moving to more complex assembled movable structures, you will learn the basic techniques for designing your own pop-up images. There will be time to experiment with various papers, adhesives and other materials to hone your skills and play. Bring your own drawings, prints, paintings, magazines- anything on paper that can be cut out - and learn to turn them into 3-D movable images!
(bring your own scissors, x-acto knife, ruler, and a pencil, and any images you want to play with)
INTRODUCTION TO ETCHING

This workshop is designed for beginner printmakers, art teachers, and high school art students building portfolios.
An introduction to etching with aluminum plates. This method uses non-toxic acids and solvents that can be used in the classroom. Notes will be provided and art teachers will be introduced to the Anne Meredith Barry Press, which can be borrowed for educational purposes.

INTRODUCTION TO LITOGRAPHY

Learn the basics of stone lithography in this hands on workshop with Mike Connolly.Learn everything from preparing the stone, drawing the image, processing and printing, right down to signing and numbering your prints.

PHOTOCOPY TRANSFERS FOR STONE LITOGRAPHY
Saturday April 27-Sunday April 28th, 10-4PM
$100 members: $130 non members
Visiting artist Audrey Hurd will show you how to incorporate photographic images into lithography through the use of photocopy tranfers. In this 2 day workshops participants will learn to transfer their photographic images onto a stone, and then alter or add to them using traditional lithography drawing techniques. Basic printing procedures will be covered as well.
This workshop is best suited to those who have completed an introductory course in lithography.
