Shane N. Dwyer is a mixed media artist. He holds a BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. The subject-matter of his work varies base on the medium he’s using. Shane’s work explores various forms of mark making on paper, canvas and Mylar.
Initially he sets out exploring existing historical landmarks and structural forms in the landscape and then further explores it’s political, cultural and social significance while drawing historical narratives and creating new meanings, and new histories .These ideas are an ongoing dialog with past and present social and cultural models encoded in urban and rural landscapes.
His work reflects Social statements and ideas of our culture, and our social standing. Shane’s work places equal importance on process and narrative. His work responds to the social, cultural and industrial presence in the landscape.
